ROLI released Seaboard 5D as a free app that transforms compatible iOS devices into a touch-sensitive musical instrument modeled on the Seaboard’s keywave surface. It uses the Equator sound engine to deliver a range of sounds, with support for expressive playing via gestures on the screen. The app includes a library of presets and serves as a portable sound source or MIDI controller companion for hardware like the Seaboard RISE.
Seaboard 5D functions as a standalone app and supports MIDI output for integration with other iOS music tools. It requires iOS 9.0 or later and is optimized for devices from iPhone 5c onward and newer iPads. The app remains available on the App Store with in-app purchases for additional content, aimed at expressive music production and performance on mobile.
