DAF-100 centers on five dedicated modules. Bonk is an 8-voice drum machine with basic drum editing. Monode is a monophonic bass-line synth with saw, square and pulse waves, 2- or 3-voice unison, non-resonant low-pass filter, single ADSR for filter and volume, and pitch FM. Monette is another monophonic synth similar to Monode but with a fixed sinewave oscillator. Pauly is a polyphonic synthesizer with basic controls for waveshape, detune, ring modulator, octave multiplier and sizzle (fuzz), plus an ADSR for volume and no filter. Drune is a drone synthesizer with tone and noise sections, each controlled separately through a resonant low-pass filter on an XY pad. Tone can be shaped with an LFO with adjustable rate and adjustable amount of modulation for detune, cutoff and pitch, while noise has LFO modulation of cutoff. Drune can be played via touch strip with selectable range and optional quantization.

All other modules are controlled via the X0X-style 16-step sequencer or played via pads. The interface is simple to use and easy to figure out in most places, except the drum editing is done via a unique UI that is a bit strange.

Mixer and master bus FX section glue the sound together. Note that DAF-100 operates as a standalone app only with no AUv3 support or sync features, which limits easy integration with other iOS apps or external machines.

The interface was clearly designed for smaller iPhone screen, but it works on iPad as well. It’s also possible to run it on Mac, but as of current version the UI is broken.
