Sonarworks announced a collaboration with Dolby to introduce Dolby Atmos Personalization through the upcoming SoundID Reference Tools mobile app. The app uses the device’s camera to capture imagery of the user’s head, ears, and shoulders, then applies Dolby technology to generate a personalized profile file. This file loads into the Dolby Atmos Renderer or compatible DAWs, improving spatial and timbral accuracy for Dolby Atmos headphone monitoring. Profile creation is free, with the app providing a more consistent and accurate experience for creators working on immersive mixes.
The SoundID Reference Tools app will be available soon. It supports integration with professional Dolby Atmos content creation tools and DAWs. The collaboration enhances headphone monitoring for Atmos workflows, helping producers achieve better translation across playback systems. This is distinct from the existing desktop SoundID Reference calibration software (no iOS/AUv3 version for full reference tools) and the consumer SoundID app for enabled headphones.
