Augmatic GRE 1.2 by Artur Antoni Nowak

The v1.2 update brings a welcome set of new tools and refinements. A built-in interactive tutorial helps new users quickly understand the appโ€™s unique blend of Grids and Euclidean engines. The new Beat Monitor provides clear visual feedback showing exactly when beats fire or get blocked, making it easier to fine-tune patterns in real time. Six Master Sliders now offer quick global control over all channels with soft and hard modes, while the redesigned preset and MIDI mapping browser adds folders and favorites for better organization. Additional improvements include Paint mode in the Linear Drumming priority matrix, a Whole-note (1N) velocity bender cycle, scrollable lists that now commit on release for smoother live performance, selectable MIDI channel in plugin mode (no longer locked to channel 10), resizable AUv3 window on macOS, and fixes for hanging MIDI notes and preset name persistence in DAW projects.

Augmatic GRE offers six channels for layered drum patterns, including bass drum, snare, hi-hat, and accents, making it a versatile tool for discovering unique beats without manual programming. The Grids Engine (based on Mutable Instruments Grids eurorack module) provides morphable, evolving sequences, while theEuclidean Engine distributes rhythms evenly, with a third blend option to crossfade between them for hybrid results. Linear drumming controls interactions, Velocity Bender shapes dynamics, and Groove Tools like swing and humanization add feel. As a universal AUv3 MIDI plugin, it works seamlessly in hosts like AUM or GarageBand on iPhone and iPad, and extends to MacOS without a separate purchase, supporting creative workflows across devices.

For iPad music production, the update makes Augmatic GRE more user-friendly and reliable. The interactive tutorial lowers the entry barrier, while the Beat Monitor, Master Sliders, and improved browser speed up workflow during live jamming or detailed sequencing. It runs as a standalone app or AUv3 MIDI effect on iPhone, iPad, and Mac, with full MIDI output for driving external sound sources or hardware. The combination of algorithmic generation and the new performance tools makes it a strong companion for both spontaneous idea generation and structured track building.

Key features include:
