Genya Hirose released Cycler XS02, a rhythmic synthesizer app for iPadOS and macOS on Apple Silicon. It uses motion-based modulation to shape a single sound into evolving phrases, with six core parameters adjustable via random, LFO, or envelope sources. The app includes a gate sequencer for rhythmic control and sound-mangling modules for effects processing. It supports preset management, MIDI input/output, and a user interface optimized for live performance tweaking.
Cycler XS02 operates as a standalone app without AUv3 plugin support. It features low CPU usage suitable for mobile devices and includes updates for parameter randomization logic. The app is designed for electronic and experimental production workflows, with integration options for external MIDI controllers.
