Fingerlab has officially released Version 5.0 of Musyc2, its physics-based generative music creation application. This major update expands the software’s interactive layout with new physical elements, additional audio processing effects, a user scale editor, and a significant expansion of the onboard sound library.
Musyc2 functions both as a standalone app and an AUv3 plugin across iOS, iPadOS, and macOS.

The 5.0 update focuses primarily on introducing new interactive mechanics to the physics environment and allowing deeper user customization over musical harmony:

- New Audio Effects: Added Tremolo and Flanger modules to the internal FX options.
- Content Expansion: Adds 12 new sound kits and 10 new factory demo songs produced by community creators Vincent, JawSide, Loca, and YosheyX2.
- Stability: Includes various minor bug and crash fixes.
Core System Architecture
Musyc2 operates by using moving geometric shapes (such as circles, squares, and triangles) that trigger audio samples when they collide with lines or static physical nodes. Users can use the application as a self-contained generative audio generator or as a pure MIDI processor to drive external instruments.
