Zachary Steinkamp released Knobbler, an app that transforms iPhone or iPad into a dynamic control surface for Ableton Live 12 Suite or Standard with Max for Live. It auto-labels and auto-colors parameters, enabling multitouch adjustments, track and device navigation, and real-time control over mixers, effects, and instruments. The app connects via WiFi or Ethernet to a computer running Ableton, using a free Max for Live device added to the Live Set. It includes features like current parameter sliders, customizable layouts, and seamless integration for live performance or studio workflows.
Knobbler supports iOS 15.1 or later, with a free 30-day trial followed by subscription options (monthly $0.99, annual $9.99) or lifetime purchase ($19.99). It focuses on reducing mouse dependency for electronic producers, with updates adding iPhone compatibility and enhanced functionality. The app is standalone, not AUv3, and requires direct network communication with the host computer.
