The v2 update focuses on saturation response and modulation flexibility. The internal drive circuitry has been overhauled to handle up to +36 dB of push while maintaining weight and density at extreme resonance and cutoff settings rather than thinning out. The modulation section has expanded from a smaller set to four full sources, and the series routing logic between the high-pass and low-pass filters is smoother in this release.

What’s new in v2:

  • Massive Internal Drive: Upgraded saturators capable of +36 dB of high-gain push
  • Four Modulation Sources: Expanded modulation section to animate filters in complex ways
  • Improved Series Routing Logic: Smoother transitions and interactions between the high-pass and low-pass filters

Scissor Hands 2 arranges high-pass and low-pass filters in series, covering surgical EQ, animated auto-filter, and distortion unit in one plugin. The four modulation sources drive rhythmic sweeps and evolving textures, while the internal drive interacts directly within the filter circuit for a cohesive compressed character rather than post-filter saturation. In Logic Pro for iPad it carves space in dense mixes or shapes drum buses, and in AUM it works well as a modulation and tone-shaping stage in a longer effects chain.

Core features:

  • Dual Filter Series Design: High-pass and low-pass filters for precise band-pass carving
  • Integrated Saturation: Up to +36 dB of gain directly into the filter circuit
  • Four Modulation Sources: Dynamic filter sweeps and evolving textures
  • Universal AUv3 and standalone on iPad, iPhone, and macOS
